Hoodies are harder to mock up than tees. There’s a hood throwing a shadow, a kangaroo pocket that cuts the chest print in half if you place it too low, and ribbed cuffs that catch the light differently from the body. A flat-lay tee template won’t tell you any of that. Pick a file with the angle you actually sell from.
Free hoodie mockup PSD files
1. Hoodie and tank top on a wooden background (Adobe Stock)
The biggest file here: 5400 × 3600 px, RGB, two mockups in one pack. It’s flat-lay, with plants around the edges, and suits a calm, natural brand better than streetwear. Free from Adobe Stock’s free collection; you need a free Adobe account to download it. The plants and sample design in the preview are for display only and aren’t in the file.

2. Hoodie on a mannequin in a shop
A faceless mannequin in a softly lit store. One smart object for the front print, colour adjustment layers for the hoodie, fixed lighting. It’s the one I’d pick for a POD listing that should look like a real shop rather than a studio. Free ($0) on the creator’s Gumroad.

The only free file on the list that does the back properly. Smart objects for front and back, and separate colour control for the hood, pocket, laces, sleeves and label, with two background types. If your design has a big back print, start here.

A photographed model in a hoodie over a shirt. 2700 × 1800 px at 300 DPI, PSD, with real colour change on the fabric. Free for personal and commercial use, but Hyperpix asks you to sign up for a (free) account before the download.

5. Floating hoodie (Graphicshell)
No body, no hanger. The hoodie floats on a plain backdrop with smart objects for the print and two colour layers, one of them for the laces. Good for a clean product shot. One licence note: Dealjumbo’s terms for this freebie exclude use in designs made for sale, so check them before using it in a POD listing.

How to put your design on a hoodie mockup PSD
Open the file in Adobe Photoshop, find the smart object layer (usually named something like “Your Design”), and double-click it. Paste your artwork, save, close. The main file updates with the folds and shading on top.
Two things go wrong on hoodies more than on tees.
The pocket. A chest print placed at tee height runs straight into the kangaroo pocket seam. Keep the artwork above it, or shrink it.
Dark fabric. White ink on a black hoodie looks fine on screen and muddy on the mockup if the template multiplies the design onto the fabric. Check the layer’s blend mode inside the smart object before you blame your file.

- Etsy or Shopify listing → #2 (shop mannequin) or #8 (clean studio, any colour).
- Sleeve design → #9.
- Team or event merch → #11.
